Movies

Over the past week and a bit I’ve watched: The Three Burials of Melquiades Estrada, The Weather Man, Silent Hill, Little Man, Clerks II and Irreversible.
I found that from this selection of movies, I disagree with most of the comments made on IMDB. I’ll get the crap out of the way first – Irreversible [...]

Movies

Over the past couple of weeks I’ve watched: Little Fish, Japanese Story, Luther, Hard Candy and Proof.
I’d have to say, overall, a bunch of really good movies. Little Fish and Japanese Story were both Australian flicks and (in my opinion) were excellent examples of how good Australian actors can act!
Luther was about a German [...]

Nacho Libre, Firewall, My Super Ex-Girlfriend and Inside Man

Recently watched the above movies…
Nacho Libre received a hammering from the critics and most of the reviewers on IMDB but I really liked it. Ok, I’ll admit that I have watched and enjoyed WWF (haven’t watched it in ages, and you really have to view it more like a sit-com than a sport… but [...]

Poseidon, Final Destination 3 and Two For The Money

Ok… I couldn’t think of a good way to tie those three names together to make a corny title for this post, but over the last week I watched the movies – Poseidon, Final Destination 3 and Two For The Money and I have to honestly say, all three of them were pretty good.
Poseidon was [...]

Harry on Temptation

A few years ago some friends and I would participate in a pub trivia team. The nights were hosted by a guy named Harry and it was always a lot of fun (despite the fact that our team used to come close to last place each week).
Last week I was having dinner and I [...]

Guess who took the long way round but ended-up in the lead whilst breaking-up the da Vinci Code

Ok… that title is a little dicky, but so is everything else I write – and amazingly people still seem to read it???
Anyways, to explain what the dicky title is all about, it is a montage of the movies and TV shows I’ve seen over the past few weeks:
Guess Who
The Long Way Round
Take The Lead
The [...]

The Ant Bully

Went to see The Ant Bully on the weekend and it was really good. One of the great things about having a little kid is that you can go to kid’s movies and use them as an excuse to watch animated flicks.
The computer animation was well done, the voices were good and although there [...]

Movie and TV catch-up

Caught-up on a few movies over the past week – Freedomland, The World’s Fastest Indian, The Ice Harvest, Bewitched and the TV show The Chaser’s War on Everything.
Freedomland was a police/kidnapping thriller with Samuel L Jackson and Julianne Moore… but the movie reminded me of my cooking – bland.
The World’s Fastest Indian was excellent – [...]

Snakes On A Plane

I don’t want to spoil the movie for anyone, but here’s some pic’s of Snakes On A Plane:

Waiting and Capote

Last weekend we watched Waiting and Capote and both were quite good.
Waiting was a comedy staring Ryan Reynold’s which paints a somewhat realistic image of what it’s like to work in the hospitality industry – a very funny (and equally stupid) movie.
Capote was a true story about the American novelist – Trueman Capote (known for [...]
