One of the things suggested by my business coach was to start sending-out articles and press releases to the free local newspapers. Apparently they are always looking for articles to publish and it’s a good free way to advertise.
So I put together a piece about how simple web hosting was and sent it off to the local paper. The piece that I sent was a couple of pages long and I anticipated that they’d summarise and cut it down a bit… but instead they ended-up turning an article on how simple web hosting is into something that seems far more technical than it’s worth.
The good news is that even though I was disappointed about the wording of the article, there’s a nice big pic of me in the paper, plus they mentioned the web address which is always good - and I’ve already received 2 enquiries from it.
