Waiting and Capote

Posted on Thursday 14 September 2006

Last weekend we watched Waiting and Capote and both were quite good.

Waiting was a comedy staring Ryan Reynold’s which paints a somewhat realistic image of what it’s like to work in the hospitality industry – a very funny (and equally stupid) movie.

Capote was a true story about the American novelist – Trueman Capote (known for writing such pieces as Breakfast at Tiffany’s) and in particular the journey he went through in writing his most famous book – In Cold Blood. The book told the true story of a killer sentenced to death for murdering a farming family in the 1960′s. As a character, Capote was self-centered, irritating, egotistical and just generally annoying – but that was (apparently) how he was in real life, so it was an excellent portrayal. A really interesting movie about an even more interesting (albeit annoying) man.
