V for Vendetta

Posted on Monday 10 April 2006

Sunday we saw V for Vendetta and it was excellent! The writing credits go to the Wachowski brothers who previously gave us The Matrix trilogy. I was very anxious as they have a lot of talent, but went off the rails after the first Matrix film. They finished the trilogy well by abandoning the story-line and replacing it with pure action.

I was concerned that V may have followed a similar path (which wouldn’t have been terrible as a good action flick can be a lot of fun) but with the political themes of V, I wanted to see a well told story with justified violence – and that is exactly what I got.

The whole movie was “just right” – not too overdone, but packed the necessary punch where required. Go see it if you haven’t already!
